So ya I just found out that my blogs weren't working...that sucks...now I'm worried about not graduating...CRAP. So stuff that I've learned recently...I need 1.5 hours to wake up...wow thats really bad...collage classes (at Columbus state) are like here just with greater number of possible people to be in the class.
Well I got an easy A on my midterms...all of them. In SS I put together my groups paper...and collage really isn't as bad as people think...I know this sounds lame but I think that CSCC is like a big graham.

Today I didn’t do that much interesting, I have more to do on the old website than I thought. However I did get pizza! My big head of the floor boss was talking about ordering, so I popped my head in for a second, and got myself some too! I also got quite an interesting picture from Bill, (the guy who had brought in the Bamby); I like to call this “Dead Deer Walking”. I have no idea were he got it but I thought you guys might like it.

4 quarter walkabout expectations/how does it show risk
For 4 quarter I plan to go do PSEO. In fact I will be doing that, I've already paid. All I need to do is write up the proposal as a formality. I expect to get relatively nothing out of these classes, but I hope to be surprised. The classes I have chosen are basic classes which I need to do to get the new classes, so like I said I have to take them. Also they may go more in depth than the other classes I've taken. As for risk, if I don't pass I don't graduate, and that's a little bit of a problem. Normally its a bit tough to fail a site, but here it'll be easy, especially if there is a lot of homework.

I got in at 9 since my mom took me, and boy was that fun! The car is breaking down, so when it’s not moving it keeps revving to keep from dying. Meaning that it almost dies then gets a power surge, it can’t keep a constant if we are stopped.
When we got in I finished the forums (^_^)! It made me happy. Unfortunately I didn’t break 1000 posts for it, I only got 997, too bad huh? My new project is some old phones that we have; I get to check all of them to see if they are working.
On the bright side I have some venison to eat with that! A guy my dad works with, Bill, gave me some of his own made venison and its great. I also am leaving nearly 3 hours early due to the weather.

Yaaaaaaaay! Today’s lucky! Why? Because this is my 13 post! Hooray for me! Well today was nothing new. I copied more forums. Another day, another years worth of reports copied. On the other hand on the page I'm building I've posted almost 1000 threads! If this keeps up I'm going to be amazed.

Dailey Journal 2/29
Today was basically just like yesterday. I did nothing new. Isn’t my life exciting! Actually it is because I'm almost done with my eagle scout. I just need to meet with a lady, and get my letters of recommendation (*cough*Fred, Evan*cough*).
Dailey Journal 2/28
So…it wasn’t exactly to interesting today. I just got here late since my dad is sick (I'm starting to get worried, first my mom, than sister, and now my dad! It'll be me next for sure!), but that wasn’t so bad, my mentor doesn’t so much care about when I come in so long as I come.
I managed to copy a years worth of information down, and formatted it for the forums. I was dull slow, and I'm going to be doing more of it for the next few days. It really is a good thing that I have CDs to keep me entertained.

Today I got my ID badge. I was sent to human recourses to get it, but they were completely surprised to see me. They checked anyway but there was no badge to be found, as such I needed to go up to the main gate guardhouse, a good 3 minute walk, to get it made (normally this would be fine but it was raining, and that annoyed me).
When I got back I was finally able to beat the forums page and I got that up and running! However I had yet another problem, to get to the other offsite forums page I need a password and username, which I don’t happen to have. Fortunately for me, I'm able to borrow someone’s, and get to work.
Now when I heard that this was a forums page I believed it, but since it was just reports I didn’t think it would be that bad, but there’s about 40 reports a month, and this starts in 2004, so that’s a lot of work. Imp going to have my hands full with this one.

Daily Journal 2/25/08
Today I did more of yesterday. In other words I got to play! The dotnetnuke modules that we are playing with are still giving us a little trouble, but I think that I can have them beat within a few days. Right now the only real problem is making it so anyone can access the command "add new announcement", but like I said this should be able to be fixed. I also am having a bit of problems with the calender module, but that should be even easier to fix than the announcements. I have already put in the full years schedule for ODNR but I'm working on how to make it so that anyone can update it...so more of the same problems. hopefully I will be able to move on to the next few pages next week.
Daily Journal 2/24/08
Today I used dotnetnuke for the first time. To say the least I was impressed with it. I, who has 0 experience making websites, have already made a complete web page with a spot for announcements, a survey, and a planning calendar where I am going to be putting the events for ODNR. The webpage also has some very specific special features. For example I have allowed a group of people (who I picked) has excess to modification privileges. This way I don’t have to do all the work and others can put up there own announcements, and put stuff into the calendar themselves. And to top all this off…I managed (again with no prior experience) to do all this in about an hour!
I have also found a couple of other pages that I’m experimenting on, but those are still in the works. So far though I am planning to make a forums page were I can put the monthly reports for the entire state! Now my only problem is creating an extra level of classification for the forums. I think I may have found a way but I need to do some experimenting.
If my experience keeps going as it is I very well may work on making my own website, because it’s that awesome. On the other hand I might have to do a bit of programming. I should be safe as long as I don’t want to spend the time to make anything custom (hurray for free programs worth thousands!).

This is also going to be short, I had to try out the dotnetnuke but it didn't work right away, or we had problems getting it to let me edit anything. This turned out to be our problem due to trying to set up a new level of authority. In the end I did get it to work but I didn't relay get to use it. However I did get to see some potential problems.
Daily Journal 2/18/08
So ya, this is going to be short. I didn't do much today because I had to fight with the computer. the server was having problems to, so all in all I didn't do much of anything new.

Daily Journal 2/15
Yesterday I was sick so I missed out on a goon opportunity to do some work. It seems that that was the reason that I worked so slowly. After getting out of ODNR I went to my work and promptly (within 10 minutes) upon my arrival became so close to vomiting that I had to go home. I got back home and immediately went to sleep. This is at 4:30 PM I never do that! What’s more is that I slept till noon the next day! Of course my parents (and mentor) thought that I should take the next day of so I did…I got to do work on both my sick days (oh joy).
When I got to work today I managed to get all my real work (you know filling out forms and taking inventory), I got to go to my new task. I was introduced to www.dotnetnuke.com which is a wonderful program that I think should be worth a couple hundred dollars but is offered free! I spent the rest of the day watching some homemade videos of people using the system to build a website, and another to make new additions for the website. Prity soon I might be able to post a timetable that I’ve been making to show what ive been doing at ODNR by the ½ hour.

Today I was working on finishing up the floppies. There were some that were “writing protected”. I made sure to dispose of those extremely well.
After that was done I had to go over to another building to test out a live video web cast program which was sent out through the ODNR intranet. The web cast was a test to see weather It was a viable option to have on a 1 way talking meeting. This may eventually be used to do training sessions and other things.
After I was done with the web cast I went back to my office and began formatting one of our old Gateway 2000 computers full of sensitive information. The computer was like my old one complete with the 4 gig hard drive.
While I waited for the computer to format I worked on filling out triplicate forms for the computers in my office. With the exception of the computer I use the computers are all going to be moved and I am stuck doing the paperwork. On the bright side I will be able to get to my window.

Daily journal 2/11
Today I got to see my new office. I am in a small room with a window (that I can’t get to), a nice computer with windows 2000 on it, and 40 computers. I am normally going to be left in there all day and do my own thing with only occasional contact with the outside world.
Today I was working with 244 floppies which needed to be formatted and then destroyed. Needless to say I had a very boring day. The floppies however did need to be formatted and destroyed because they contained sensitive information.
Sensitive information is information, like your social security information, and credit card number. In the floppies that I destroyed were the arrest records from the past 14 years or so. That means that if a hacker got his hands on this stuff than he/she could steal the identities of everyone who has gotten arrested since 1994 (it was probably more than this but that’s the oldest label which I saw).

On my first day of work for my new site I was sent to a park a good two ours away. I was sent with my mentor Phil Hoffman and another worker in the teck department I know only as mike. We went to this particular park to test a new Wi-Fi system that we are putting in the parks.
Upon our arrival to the park we were greeted by the empty computer room. It was inside another building (I’m not going to say which one incase someone tries to break in). Luckily for us the people in there last were kind enough to leave a small electric heater on for us. The Wi-Fi system wasn’t working for some reason on the new windows vista. In effect anyone with a new computer or anyone trying to use this in 2 years wouldn’t be able to use the internet.
We couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the system and when the company that installed it came they had to take 5 hours to work with the code to fix the problem. The simplified version of the problem was that there was an extra prompt that vista didn’t have, but earlier versions did have.
